Privacy Policy
Effective: July 24, 2026 · Controller: Advanced Learning Academy LLC (“ALA”)
This policy applies to realworldcareers.com, the candidate job portal, credential verification, employer portal, and related inquiries. It does not cover a third-party site after you leave our service.
Information we collect
- Candidate and purchase information: email, Stripe session/customer/payment references, purchased product, entitlement dates, credential code, and delivery/recovery records.
- Assessment and profile information: eligible Real World IQ session linkage, assessment scores, six-domain profile values, career matches, and report data.
- Job activity: ZIP, search query, result counts, active-session tokens, and timestamps needed to deliver and protect job search.
- Employer information: company, work email, salted password hash, subscription/customer identifiers, plan limits, credential-verification history, and direct-opening content.
- Inquiry information: contact details, organization, hiring/program needs, and message.
- Technical and security information: IP address, user agent, request timestamps, consent choice, referral code, rate-limit/security events, and diagnostic logs.
Stripe processes full payment-card details. We receive transaction and customer references but do not intentionally store full card numbers or security codes.
How we use information
- Provide purchases, assessments, profile reports, credentials, job search, employer tools, billing access, and support.
- Verify eligibility, payments, entitlement, credentials, and account access.
- Send transactional messages, recovery links, receipts, service notices, and requested inquiry follow-up.
- Detect abuse, enforce rate limits, investigate security or payment events, maintain logs, and improve reliability.
- Measure service use and referral attribution. Optional analytics load only after the consent choice implemented on the site.
- Comply with law, enforce agreements, and establish or defend legal claims.
We do not represent that we sell personal information. We do not use assessment results as an employer’s hiring decision-maker. Employers receive profile information only when using a candidate-provided credential through an authorized account or an agreed candidate workflow.
Service providers and disclosures
We disclose the minimum reasonably needed to vendors that host or deliver the service, including Cloudflare (hosting, edge security, D1/KV), Stripe (payments, subscriptions, billing portal, fraud tools), email-delivery providers, job-listing sources, analytics providers after consent, and professional advisers. These providers process information under their own contracts and policies.
We may disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, to investigate fraud/security incidents, or as part of a merger, financing, reorganization, or sale subject to appropriate notice and safeguards. Government or enterprise contracts may define additional processor/controller roles and disclosure limits.
Retention
We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes above, an active entitlement or account, dispute and fraud prevention, tax/accounting, legal obligations, and documented government or enterprise record schedules. Credential and purchase records may remain for the stated verification term and for a reasonable audit period afterward. Security and transactional records may be retained longer when needed to investigate an incident or meet law. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer needed and no exception applies.
Security
Controls include TLS in transit, Cloudflare platform protections, restricted secrets, signed webhook verification, replay windows, rate limiting, short-lived signed employer sessions, salted PBKDF2 password hashing, payment-event idempotency, and least-data public credential responses. No method is risk-free. The current internal security assessment and remaining independent-assurance gates are published at Security Assessment.
Your choices and requests
Depending on where you live, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or information about disclosures, and may appeal a denied request. Some records cannot be deleted immediately because of payment, security, legal, or contract obligations. Email privacy@advancedlearning.academy or team@advancedlearning.academy. We may verify identity before acting.
You can manage optional analytics using the cookie controls, cancel an employer subscription through the billing portal, and stop marketing email using the message instructions. Transactional and security messages may still be required while an account or entitlement is active.
Children, sensitive use, and employment decisions
The service is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. Do not submit a child’s data. Assessment results are not medical data or a diagnosis. Employers and agencies must provide required notices, consent, accommodations, human review, job-related validation, and equal-employment safeguards; the service must not be the sole basis for a high-impact decision.
International use and policy changes
Service systems and providers may process information in the United States and other locations where they operate. Cross-border users are responsible for confirming the service is appropriate for their jurisdiction. We may update this policy and will change the effective date; material changes will be communicated where reasonably required.
